cosnova Extends WWF Partnership by Sponoring East Africa's Unganisha Program
At cosnova, we know beauty isn’t just skin deep – it’s about taking responsibility for our planet. Since 2021, we’ve been supporting WWF Germany, kicking things off with a project in Vietnam to tackle plastic waste. Now, we’re super excited to share that we’ve extended our sponsoring-partnership for another three years, with a fresh new focus: the Unganisha program in East Africa.
At cosnova we take our Climate Actions seriously and do our part to reduce our “carbon footprint” by avoiding and reducing our emissions. On top of that we are voluntarily contributing to carbon avoidance by supporting biodiversity or carbon removal projects financially. The Unganisha program plays a big part in that.
Here’s the deal: we calculate our carbon harm price by looking at our Scope 1 and 2 emissions, plus the most tangible parts of our Scope 3 emissions. Then, we invest 50% of that calculated amount into projects that boost biodiversity and tackle carbon harm. But why focus on biodiversity? Simple – protecting biodiversity is key to fighting climate change. Healthy ecosystems, with diverse plant and animal life, are more resilient and better at capturing and storing carbon, which helps to reduce the overall impact of climate change.

cosnova supports WWF in reserving Nature, restoring Land, and empowering Families
Unganisha is all about protecting the incredible but fragile ecosystem in East Africa. We’re helping create a massive 134,000 square kilometer nature reserve, giving endangered animals like elephants, white rhinos, leopards, and countless bird species a safe place to live and thrive. This kind of biodiversity conservation is crucial because it saves species and supports the natural processes that regulate our climate.
In the first year alone, cosnova’s support, powered by our Climate Contribution, will help restore 1,984 hectares of land, plant over 29,771 trees, and directly benefit around 1,086 families.
And here’s the best part: “Unganisha” means “together” in Swahili – because when we come together, we can create a more beautiful, sustainable world for everyone, from people to animals and our planet.
